The experienced golfer admitted that he didn't know how to deal with fame, with successes on the golf scene, and the whole environment around him was too much at those moments. He admitted that he's quite different from other people who know how to deal with many challenges. Anthony, on the other hand, is a different profile of a person who has a hard time resisting the challenges of life, especially when you are a young person.
"I was in a bad mental place. My mental health was deteriorating every day whether I played golf or not. I wanted to experience everything too quickly.
I didnt know what to do with the advantages you get when you play professional golf for a living.
Some people can handle parties, drinking and move on without thinking about it, not get addicted to anything and live a good life.
But Im not one of those people. When I do something, I do it 100 per cent. As great of a strength, that is also an Achilles heel.- Anthony Kim said.
The 39-year-old recalled the year 2022 when he was in a hospital bed. A lot of things went through his mind while looking at his daughter and remembering some moments.
Kim felt in those moments that he had to change something in his life, probably regretting the missed opportunities and the addiction he had. In those moments, this great golfer decided to turn over a new leaf in his life. His daughter was the biggest inspiration for the experienced golfer to make changes in his life. Besides them, his mother and his wife were an important inspiration for Kim.
I looked at my daughter and I felt so much guilt and shame. I brought her into this world and I was, you know, in that kind of shape. So I decided, nows the time to turn my life around, -he said.
You only get one life. She inspired me. My wife inspired me and my mum inspired me to be a better person and its never too late to make change.
The American admitted that he would change everything if he had the opportunity to turn back time. He pointed out that he made many mistakes, but that sometimes it's too late to go back and correct what has already been done. It's also interesting that the 39-year-old is still a golfer with the same mindset, who is not afraid of anyone.
His wishes are to win tournaments, play for a few more years, and enjoy the time spent with his daughter.
