Legendary WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross might not know the ins and outs of artificial intelligence, but hes open to the idea of his iconic voice living on through technology.
The 72-year-old announcer, whos still calling matches for AEW pay-per-views, recently addressed the potential for his voice to be preserved and used for commentary in the futureeven after he steps away from the mic.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross didnt hold back when asked about the concept of AI replicating his commentary. First of all, I dont know what the f*** AI is, Ross admitted. I know its out there. Ive heard people talk about it. But Im just being very upfront and frank because thats how I work.
While Ross might not grasp the full scope of AI, the thought of his voice continuing to entertain fans years down the road intrigued himespecially if it meant his grandkids could hear him in action. That would be really cool for my grandkids or their kids to see grandpa doing his thing, Ross said, adding with a laugh, So if I could get paid for it, Im happy to do it.
With Ross previously hinting that 2024 could be his final year in commentary, the possibility of AI preserving his legendary style has fans buzzing about what the future could hold for one of wrestlings most recognizable voices.
