Vickie Guerrero was one of the most hated heels during her time with WWE in the late 2000s and early 2010s and fans remember her storyline with LayCool as well. In fact, it appears WWE scrapped plans for Guerrero to win the Womens Championship back in the day.
While speaking on the Heated Shenanigans podcast, Layla talked about the time she won the WWE Womens Championship after defeating Beth Phoenix back in 2010. The match was somewhat odd as she teamed up with Michelle McCool to face Phoenix in a handicap match.
Layla revealed that her championship victory came as a surprise, as the original plan was for Vickie Guerrero to win the title due to Phoenixs injury, but WWE decided to change that plan in the end.
As for Vickie Guerrero, she made an appearance during the September 13th episode of SmackDown but has not been seen on WWE television ever since. While there is no indication she will return anytime soon, the fact that she was supposed to win the WWE Womens Championship is something that has genuinely surprised fans in a major way.
