WrestleMania might go down in 2025 without The Rock, as WWE creative reportedly moves forward under the assumption that the Hollywood megastar wont be available.
On the WWE Post-RAW Show hosted by Sean Ross Sapp and Ibou on Fightful, Sapp revealed that WWE is operating as if The Rock is not working the event, though with The Rock, anything is possible.
While speculation about The Rocks WrestleMania status has swirled for months, Dave Meltzer previously reported that The Rock told WWE he wouldnt be available. However, The Rock shot back at that claim on Instagram, telling fans to not believe that s***t. Despite his rebuttal, sources have confirmed to Fightful that WWE creative is currently planning for WrestleMania under the assumption that he wont appear.
The uncertainty stems from The Rocks packed schedule. He recently wrapped filming Disneys live-action Moana, which could face reshoots in 2026. WWE sources noted that The Rocks surprise appearance at Bad Blood was meant as a standalone moment rather than the start of a major storyline. Sources told said his cameo was confirmed just days before the event, which explains why the Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Hell in a Cell match opened the show.
Interestingly, The Rock and Cody Rhodes reportedly filmed something together during the Moana premiere earlier this year, though its purpose and potential WWE connection remain unclear. In a promotional interview for Moana, The Rock referred to Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and WWE President Nick Khan as his WWE family, sparking further speculation.
While creative plans are moving ahead without The Rock, fans know all too well that surprises can always happen. With his unpredictable schedule and ties to WWE, The Rocks potential WrestleMania appearance remains a tantalizing mystery.
