Jim Smallman, a key figure behind WWEs NXT creative team, recently made headlines with his announcement that hes stepping down as Senior Writer/Producer to return to the UK. But lets clear the airSmallman isnt leaving WWE entirely.
Taking to Instagram to address the speculation, Smallman explained his decision to step away from his Florida-based role, emphasizing that family comes first. Its impossible to be a good dad from 4000 miles away, he said. Its time to head home and make up for lost time. His heartfelt message detailed his incredible contributions to NXT, NXT UK, and Level Up, as well as his gratitude for the mentors and colleagues who shaped his journey.
I wrote 216 episodes of NXT UK, 150 episodes of Level Up, and worked on 190 episodes of NXT, Smallman shared. Im forever grateful to Shawn and Hunter for giving me my chance. Despite saying goodbye to the NXT creative team, Smallman made it clear hes not cutting ties with WWE.
In a follow-up post, Smallman wrote via Instagram Stories, I am not leaving WWE. Just my job in NXT creative. And also the state of Florida, obvs. Next stop, Manchester Airport tomorrow morning! The update has put fans concerns to rest while sparking curiosity about whats next for the creative mind behind some of NXTs most memorable moments.
