Elena Rybakina and Caroline Garcia lost in an absolutely shocking and devastating way in the opening match of the World Tennis League final after blowing a 5-0 lead and missed out on three match points.
Through the opening five games of the match, the Team Falcons pair absolutely dominated and appeared to be heading toward giving the Team Hawks pair a bagel.
But then, the Kazakh and the Frenchwoman failed to serve out for the match four times and ended up losing the match via a tie-break.
On Thursday - which was the opening day of the event - Sabalenka and Andreeva also defeated Rybakina and Garcia after a tie-break - but it was nothing compared to today's win.
Now, the 17-year-old Russian will stay on the court to meet the 2022 Wimbledon champion in singles.
How Sabalenka and Andreeva pulled off a stunning comeback win vs Rybakina and Garcia?
The Team Falcons duo made a lightning start to the match, collecting three breaks in a row to open a very dominant 5-0 lead.
It should be noted that in the fourth game, the Belarusian and the Russian had two break points but failed to convert.
But just when it started to seem that Rybakina and Garcia would absolutely crush their opponents, they failed to serve out for a bagel in the sixth game.
Then, they also failed to do so in the eighth and 10th games - they had a match point in both of those games.
Somehow, the Kazakh and the Frenchwoman recollected and responded by earning another break and opening a 6-5 lead.
But then, they missed out on another match point in the 12th game as Sabalenka and Andreeva managed to force a tie-break.
Even in the tie-break, Rybakina and Garcia had an early lead since they were 4-2 up.
From that moment on, Sabalenka and Andreeva won the next four points to go 6-4 up before realizing their second match point to complete their stunning comeback win.
