Ivar has made a powerful comeback in WWE after suffering a serious neck injury earlier this year, but the injury has forced him to rethink his in-ring approach. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE superstar revealed hes permanently dropped the suicide dive from his arsenala move he says caused the initial neck injury.
Ive had to rethink about how I work in the ring, Ivar explained. Its natural to know how to edit things, and to make it seem like Im not editing things. Im still giving the crowd what they want to see without doing the suicide dive. Thats the only move Ive cut from everything, cause thats what caused the initial neck injury.
The decision comes as Ivar continues to deal with lasting effects from his injury, including permanent nerve damage and recurring pain. While yoga and rehabilitation have helped him regain strength and mobility, he acknowledged the importance of working smarter in the ring to prevent further setbacks.
Despite these challenges, Ivar and his partner Erik recently captured the World Tag Team Championships on the December 16 episode of Monday Night RAW. The victory ended the 188-day reign of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh and marked a major milestone in Ivars journey back to the top.
Ivars decision to cut the suicide dive shows hes prioritizing his health while still delivering for the fans, proving that smart choices can lead to lasting success. Love it or hate it, hes adapting to keep his career going strong.
