Chris Jericho isnt holding back when it comes to addressing his critics. The reigning ROH World Champion, who has been a fixture in professional wrestling for over three decades, has fired back at those who claim his recent performances have fallen short. His bold statement? Most of them arent even watching.
In an interview with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, Jericho dismissed the naysayers, explaining that their opinions hold no weight. People that hate you are gonna hate you, no matter what you do. Theyre not even watching what Im doing. Theyre just like, Ah, we hate this guy, Jericho said, addressing the relentless negativity often aimed his way.
Jericho made it clear that he focuses solely on his massive fan base and bringing in new supporters. I cant worry about that. All I worry about is the fan base that I have, which is massive, and bringing in new fans, he continued.
The wrestling icon also took a swipe at the motivations behind his critics attacks, calling them out for projecting their own failures. People that have that attitude would never try things on their own and probably failed in their lives, so they want to try and take it out on you. I know what I feel, I know whats good and whats bad, way more than any fan does. Ive been doing this for 34 years all over the world.
Jerichos confidence in his abilities is backed by his most recent success, defending his ROH Championship against Matt Cardona at ROH Final Battle. The match showcased why Jericho continues to be one of wrestlings most enduring stars.
