Novak Djokovic will chase his 11th Australian Open crown in January. Novak has dominated the first Major of the season, claiming nine titles between 2011 and 2023!
Djokovic's fans will cheer fortheir favorite, who is wearing a light blue Lacoste polo shirt with a darker blue design on the sleeve. Blue shorts followthe upper outfit, while his footwear consists of blue shoes with white socks. His wristband is also blue.
The Serb is 94-9 at the Australian Open, debuting in 2005 and lifting his first trophy three years later. Novak started his Melbourne reign in 2011, suffering only four losses and becoming the most decorated player at the first Major of the season.
Djokovic's tenth Australian Open crown came in 2023 over Stefanos Tsitsipas. Thus, he became the second player with ten trophies at a single Major after Rafael Nadal and matched the Spaniard's 22 Major crowns. Novak could not go all the way in Melbourne this year.
Djokovic reached the semi-final and wished to remain undefeated at the Australian Open after passing the quarter-final stage. However, the Serb met world no. 4 Jannik Sinner in the semi-final and suffered a tough 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 loss.
The young gun outplayed the ten-time winner in every segment. Novak played way below his best, as his opponent kept everything under control. Djokovic failed to generate a break point for the first time at completed matches at Majors!
He claimed the third set after saving a match point, but it was not enough to sparkle a turnaround. However, Jannik kept his composure and performed well in the fourth set, sealing the deal in style and reaching his first Major final at 22.
Novak will try to regain his favorite trophy in a couple of weeks. He added Andy Murray to his coaching box, wishing for another great run at his most successful tournament. However, things will not go easy for the greatest player of all time.
Seeded 7th, Djokovic could face Sinner, Alexander Zverev or Carlos Alcaraz already in the quarter-final. He will have to perform at his best to pass those obstacles and chase the 25th Major crown. Based on his interviews, Novak is ready for that!
