Tony Schiavone has been part of AEW since the very beginning and he is always part of the companys broadcast team for weekly shows as well as pay-per-view. Fans have been wondering whether he will be present for the Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view next month, and now Schiavone has confirmed his status for the show.
While speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone revealed that he wont be attending the NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view. He explained that while AEW is sending some people to Japan for the event, he isnt booked to go.
Schiavone mentioned that he had a great experience when he visited Japan in 1991 for a big show at the Tokyo Dome, but traveling there now is more difficult. He noted that its easier for AEW to afford his ticket to Dayton, Ohio, compared to a flight to Tokyo, Japan, due to the difference in costs.
The Wrestle Dynasty event will be taking place on January 5, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Quite a few matches have already been confirmed for the show, but NJPW simply wasnt able to get more AEW talent due to scheduling conflicts. Regardless, fans will certainly miss not having Tony Schiavone as part of the event but its ultimately not his decision.
