According to PWInsider, during last weeks Raw and Fridays SmackDown, Sportsnet heavily promoted itself as the new home of TNA Wrestling. Ads for TNA aired during several commercial breaks, showing that Sportsnet is using WWE programming to help build excitement for TNAs debut on the network after WWE leaves the network.
Starting Thursday, January 2, Impact Wrestling will air exclusively on Sportsnet 360 from 810 p.m. ET. This is a big milestone for the promotion, giving them a chance to expand their reach in Canada and attract more viewers to their product.
This deal comes asSportsnets decade-long partnership with WWE comes to an end next year. This is because on January 6, WWE programming, including Raw, NXT, Friday Night SmackDown, and premium live events, will officially move to Netflix in Canada. Raw will be the first show to air on the platform, marking the beginning of this new partnership.
