Shinsuke Nakamura is the current WWE United States Champion and he had a lot to prove during his appearance at NOAH The New Year 2025 event, as he competed in a highly anticipated match that fans never thought they would ever get to see.
The King of Strong Style faced off against Ulka Sasaki at the iconic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on January 1st, 2025. There was obviously a lot of hype for Nakamuras match, and it truly delivered in a big way.
It was an evenly-contested match as it could have gone either way for both competitors. Nakamura was clearly looking to end the match as soon as possible and thats what he did. Sasaki had Nakamura locked in a triangle choke, but while the referee was down, Nakamura sprayed mist into Sasakis eyes.
The final moments of the match saw him pull out a Styles Clash and then nailed Sasaki with two Kinshashas to pick up the win, as he was triumphant in his in-ring return to NOAH.
This marked Nakamuras first match in NOAH in two years, as he previously faced off against the Great Muta at NOAHs New Year showon January 1st, 2023, where he also defeated the Japanese legend. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether Nakamura will make more appearances at NOAH events in the future, as fans certainly had a great time watching him at NOAHs New Year show today.
