WWE and trading card powerhouse Topps are officially back in business! The two iconic brands have entered a long-term partnership to produce WWE trading cards, announced via a New Years Day social media post from Topps. This collaboration marks the return of WWE to the Topps family after a briefand rockydeal with Panini.
WWE had originally partnered with Panini in 2021, but the relationship soured, leading to an alleged breach of contract and an early exit attempt by WWE. A lawsuit filed by Panini was dismissed in 2023 following a settlement, paving the way for WWE to reunite with Topps, now owned by sports merchandising giant Fanatics.
In celebration of the new partnership, Topps gave fans a sneak peek at their upcoming WWE trading cards. Sharing the preview on social media, they teased fans with the caption: Heres a first look at a few of our upcoming cards We cant WAIT to show you all we have in store. The card designs reflect Topps signature style, which wrestling collectors will undoubtedly recognize and appreciate.
The collaboration doesnt stop there. Topps WWE Slam, the mobile trading card app beloved by fans, is also making its return. Discontinued in 2021, the app is set to relaunch in early 2025, offering fans a digital platform to collect and trade WWE cards in the palm of their hands.
This renewed partnership solidifies WWEs connection with Fanatics, a company theyve successfully worked with on merchandise and memorabilia. With new trading cards and the revival of the Topps WWE Slam app, wrestling fans and collectors have plenty to look forward to in 2025.
