The former world number 1 chose this prestigious tournament - in which he had only participated in 2009 - to find the right rhythm and the necessary confidence in view of the 2025 Australian Open.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has made no secret of the fact that he wants to win the AO again, where he wrote memorable pages of tennis history by lifting the trophy 10 times during his legendary career.
The Serbian ace has worked very well in recent weeks and is changing some things in his game, so that he is ready when he has to face tough opponents like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The 37-year-old from Belgrade has never been afraid to go beyond his own limits and the dream of winning his 25th Major title is still very much alive in his mind.
Djokovic is still dangerous
Nole would be happy to start the new season lifting the 100th trophy of his career, but it will not be easy to impose himself in Brisbane. The current world No. 7 will face French veteran Gael Monfils tomorrow, an opponent Novak has always defeated on the professional tour. Gael is still a very dangerous player on such a fast surface, as evidenced by his feat against Carlitos Alcaraz in Cincinnati last year.

In a long interview with Tennis365, tennis legend Mark Woodforde revealed what he expects from the Serbian legend in 2025: I am expecting we will see the Novak Djokovic of 2023. Dont forget, he won three of the four majors that year and ended by winning the ATP Finals and confirming the world No 1 ranking once again. He also made it a goal for Serbia to do well in the Davis Cup and they came up just short after losing to Italy in the semi-finals.
He continued: For the Australian Open, Im going to go with Djokovic to win it. I was in Paris to watch Djokovic win his Olympic gold medal and it was a tremendous performance.
It was one of the matches of the year and the the standard Novak played during that event was incredible.
I saw him playing against Rafael Nadal in the second round and he was outstanding that day as well, so it was no surprise to me to see him take the gold medal.
