WWE is gearing up for a game-changing moment with the January 6 debut of Monday Night Raw on Netflix, marking the first episode in a groundbreaking deal that could extend up to 20 years. The streaming giants partnership with WWE is poised to transform how fans engage with the companys top shows and events, and WWE Superstar Grayson Waller couldnt be more excited.
In a recent interview with The West Sport, Waller shared his thoughts on WWEs move to Netflix, calling it the perfect home for the product. Its super exciting, Waller said. The fan base on Netflix is a lot bigger. Were going to be in a lot more homespretty much everyone, their mom, their grandma, their cousin, everyone has a Netflix account.
Waller emphasized the opportunity this deal provides for WWE. Being able to continue to watch NXT, SmackDown, Raw, PLEs, all of it on Netflix is going to be great. But for us too, this is an opportunity for us to show out on a different platform and not having those constraints of a television network. Netflix believes in the WWE product, and WWE is ready to deliver something huge.
When asked if the Netflix debut would see him ramp up the intensity of his outspoken persona, Waller clarified that WWE is still committed to being a family-friendly product. Theres definitely the temptation to do that, Waller admitted, but for WWE, we are a family product. As much as we like to push the envelope, we do it when its necessary.
He continued, Even though were on Netflix and maybe people think the gloves are off, at the end of the day, we still want families to come to the show. We still want you to bring your son and your daughter. So, Grayson Waller is going to say some mean things, but hes going to be very careful about what he says.
With WWE making this major move, fans are eager to see how the company will leverage Netflixs massive reach to elevate its content.
