Liverpool are looking to kick off the new year in style when they host rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Reds are flying high at the top of the table and will want to continue their exceptional form in 2025. Their first test comes from bitter foes Man Utd, who head to Anfield devoid of confidence and stranded in the bottom half.

Liverpool will be overwhelming favourites to secure a handsome victory on Sunday and their short injury list only strengthens their hand.

Here are those unavailable for Liverpool against Ruben Amorim's side.

Joe Gomez

Liverpool would have enjoyed a perfect away day against West Ham United last weekend if it hadn't been for an injury to Joe Gomez. The centre-back limped off in the 37th minute of the 5-0 victory and was replaced by young Jarell Quansah.

Unfortunately for the Reds, Gomez will be missing for the foreseeable future after pulling his hamstring, with Slot confirming that he is guaranteed to be sidelined for "a few weeks" at the very least.

"Joe is of course not in a good place when it comes to his injury. He is out for a few weeks, thats for sure," admitted the Dutchman.

Ibrahima Konate has been a notable absentee in Liverpool's defence recently after sustaining a knee injury during the 2-0 win over Real Madrid in late November. He's been missing ever since but could make a return this weekend against the Red Devils.

Slot confirmed that the centre-back returned to full team training on Friday ahead of Man Utd's visit, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee him a position in the starting lineup or matchday squad. However, he's likely to be available in some capacity.

Conor Bradley

Conor Bradley has also been absent since the Champions League triumph over Real Madrid, with the right-back suffering a hamstring injury against the reigning European champions. However, much like Konate, Slot has revealed that Bradley could make his comeback on Sunday.

"Conor and Ibou will train with us today [Friday] for the first time," said Slot in his pre-match press conference.

"So, [I am] curious and interested to see where they exactly are, of course. They have worked hard to come back to the team but the next step is always, How do you handle team sessions? They will train with us today, the two of them.

"Hopefully everybody is ready except for Joe Gomez to be part of the game on Sunday."
