On Jan. 4, NJPW x AEW held its Wrestle Dynasty event. At this event, the International Womens Cup was crowned after a build up to the Four Way which involved four different promotions.
The winner came from STARDOM as Momo Watanabe defeated Persephone (CMLL), Athena (ROH), and Willow Nightingale (AEW).
The win came with some help from Thekla, who teamed and won with Athena at STARDOMs New Year Dream show on Jan. 3. Athena hit Nightingale with the O-Face and almost had the win, but Thekla pulled the referee out of the ring. This allowed Watanabe to hit Athena with a bat before finishing the match with the Peach Sunrise.
Along with the trophy, Watanabe can now challenge amy champion from any of the participating promotions.
