Last year we witnessed the battle between Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, two golfers who marked the last year. Scheffler was particularly dominant, with as many as 7 victories on the PGA Tour, far ahead of the competition.

Although some tried to spoil his plans, the 28-year-old had incredible focus during all the tournaments in 2024, and deservedly won the PGA Tour player of the year award in the end.
His colleague, Xander Schauffele, wants to stand in Scottie's way again this year, aiming to find himself on the throne. Speaking to the media, the 31-year-old golfer admitted that Scheffler's records last year were truly incredible.
"Yeah, just kind of cruising around right where I want to be," Schauffele said, as reported by Golf Australia.
"It's a wild time. Winning two majors and being further away, or closer to the 30th-ranked player than the first is - hat's off to Scottie. He's a beast."
Winning 2 Majors and being so far from the leader is certainly a frustrating thing. It's hard to remember a golfer in the recent past who was so impressive.

Schauffele stresses that he is amazed by the dominance of his 28-year-old colleague, who kept the rhythm from tournament to tournament and created great problems for the others.
Xander, on the other hand, wants to put the accent on himself, intending to be at the very top in the future.
"He just kept winning. Even in sort of his downtime, he won another event, which pushed him even further away," Schauffele said. "So it's one of my goals that will just have to stay on the calendar for a few more years."
The start of 2025 could solve many dilemmas, but it's too early to talk about anything after a few tournaments. We have no doubt that both have the potential to be at the top of the OWGR list this year.
