Rory McIlroy seems to be firmly convinced that TGL is the right story to arouse the interest of golf fans. The Northern Irish golfer is motivated to record a good result, but the priority is to present the golf world with something completely new, something they have not had the opportunity to see before.

The 35-year-old confirmed what was previously said: This league will consist of 6 teams, 24 PGA Tour players, and will have modern technology that we have not seen in this sport before. Rory, on the other hand, explains to the audience not to be too critical, given that their project is primarily related to golf, with no intention of going to extremes. He is aware that modern times involve the use of technology, although some may not be open to such options.
"The first thing I would like to have people know is it's golf, but it's reimagined, [we are] sort of trying to take golf into the 21st century," McIlroy told ESPN.
"We have teams, obviously there's a lot of technology involved, trying to bring it into the digital era."

Rory and another creator, Tiger Woods, carefully analyzed the market, thinking about what moves to make. They wanted it to be a revolutionary thing that could change people's general impression of golf. In the end, TGL was created, a league that could represent a new era of this sport.
"[We have taken] a lot of things that we've taken from other sports like a shot clock, a timeout, things that you don't see in regular golf.
[We're] trying to appeal to that bigger sports audience out there."- Rory concluded.
One can feel that the majority is impatient before the start of TGL, considering the announcements. Fans seem to have high expectations, feeling that this could be a great story.
We won't have to wait long, because TGL will start in a few hours.
