Jeff Jarrett is ready to go out swinging. On the January 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, The Last Outlaw dropped a bombshell, announcing that hes signed his final talent contract in professional wrestling and that hes setting his sights on the AEW World Championship as he winds down his legendary career.

On the latest episode of his My World podcast, Jarrett opened up about the thought process behind his decision. He revealed that conversations with his family, his wrestling faction, and other industry legends motivated him to pursue one final high-stakes goal: the AEW World Title.

Ill just leave it at this: I am very grateful, Jarrett began. Prior to the pandemic, I didnt have wrestling on my bingo card. But through all the conversations Ive hadwhether with my family, my wrestling family like Sonjay, Jay, and Satnam, or legends I truly respectit became clear that I should take one last shot. My gut instinct was to re-sign for wrestling and see where it could take me.

Jarrett went on to explain how a piece of advice from his grandfather inspired him to aim for the top. My dad used to tell me about his grandfathers saying: If youre going to climb a tree, dont figure out how to just get to the first branch. Step back and figure out how to climb to the very top. At the very least, youll get halfway there. That analogy stuck with me, and its the mentality Im taking into this final chapter.

Initially, Jarrett considered focusing on tag team or trios gold with his faction, but he was encouraged by a former world champion and others to chase the biggest prize. Theres a former world champion who told me, Jeff, go out swinging. You dont need a long runjust go for it all. Thats what the promo was based on: high risk, high reward. Im going for the world title.

Jarrett also reflected on his journey to this point, emphasizing how excited he is for 2025 and the opportunities ahead. Im going for it all. This stage of my careerits do or die, and Im excited to see what happens next.

With Jarrett officially re-signed and locked in for 2025, fans are eager to see if he can achieve his goal and cement his legacy with one final world title run.
