The champion from Moscow communicated this news to the world through a photo on his official Instagram profile. The hope of his fans is that this happy event can give Medvedev the strength to redeem a 2024 far below expectations, in which he did not win a single title.
After reaching the final at the Australian Open lost to Jannik Sinner despite a two-set lead the Russian struggled a lot to play his best tennis in the rest of the season and suffered many unexpected losses.
Medvedev wants to shine again
2024 was certainly his worst year since he became a top player and Daniil himself admitted that he had many problems on a technical and mental level. The Russian has been working hard during pre-season with Gilles Cervara and Gilles Simon, so he hopes to start the season well at Melbourne Park.

The former world No.1 has almost always played great tennis in the Happy Slam, where he reached the final in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
In a recent interview with 'Championat', his former coach Ivan Pridankin commented on the Russian champion's current difficulties: The season was not very productive in terms of titles, but Daniil scored a lot of points, performed successfully in major tournaments, and finished the year in the top five.
