Novak Djokovic is preparing for the start of the Australian Open, a tournament in which he wrote memorable pages of tennis history with his ten triumphs. The former world number 1 knows that he will not be the top favorite in this edition and that he will need to play his best tennis from the first rounds to avoid bad surprises.

After being defeated by Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals at the Brisbane ATP 250, the Serbian champion arrived at Melbourne Park and began practicing under the watchful eye of his new coach Andy Murray. The former Scottish champion watched him closely during his practice session with Carlos Alcaraz, another of the big favorites to lift the trophy on Sunday 26 January.
The 37-year-old from Belgrade is not satisfied and wants to extend his career as much as possible, but he will only continue to play if he is competitive at the highest level. The current world number 7 has not won a Major tournament since the 2023 US Open, before the vehement rise of Jannik Sinner and Carlitos Alcaraz created serious problems for him.
Nole wants to continue playing
Nole has already left the world speechless many times, but this time he will need a truly titanic feat to win the 25th Grand Slam title of his legendary career.

On the latest edition of the Nothing Major podcast, former American ace John Isner opened up on Djokovics future: I would like to see if Djokovic can win another Grand Slam. If he still has tricks up his sleeve, well see if he can use them. He is absolutely motivated.
I do not believe that Novak will retire from tennis this year. When he won the gold medal in Paris last summer, he said that he would not mind playing at the next one, in Los Angeles in 2028.
John also added: He still wants to achieve amazing things and maybe play until he is 40. We all know that he takes a lot of care of his body.
On the other hand, if he drops to No 25 in the world, he might start thinking about retirement.
