WWEs plans for WrestleMania 41 were taking shape before some major behind-the-scenes shifts altered the course of the event.
According to Billi Bhatti on the Dirty Sheets Backstage podcast, key matches were already set in place a few weeks before Survivor Series, including some marquee showdowns that had fans excited for what was to come.
Bhatti revealed that around Bad Blood, WWE had a clear vision of what WrestleMania 41 would look like, with the following matches already locked in: It was Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, it was Logan Paul vs. John Cena, it was a rematch between Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley, it was Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair, and it was The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes, with potentially Roman Reigns added to the match.
These planned matches represented some of the biggest potential bouts in WWE history, with stars like Seth Rollins, CM Punk, John Cena, and The Rock all slated for high-profile encounters. However, things took a dramatic turn as WWE began to rethink its approach to certain storylines, especially with the inclusion of Roman Reigns in the Cody Rhodes vs. Rock match and the shift towards John Cena becoming the focal point of WrestleMania.
With these changes, WWE fans are left to wonder how the final card will shape up as the road to WrestleMania 41 continues. The early matchups were certainly promising, but the final product may look completely different.
Original WrestleMania 41 Matches:
- Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk
- Logan Paul vs. John Cena
