Seth Rollins has gone through numerous changes throughout his career in WWE, especially when it comes to all the monikers he is known by. This includes his middle name, as many refer to him as Seth Freakin Rollins and now Rollins has revealed who came up with that middle name in the first place.
While speaking in an interview withChris Van Vliet, Seth Rollins was asked who was responsible for his Freakin middle name. Rollins stated that Vince McMahon was the one who came up with the Freakin middle name for his WWE character. Rollins said that Vince added it years ago, possibly because he thought Seth Rollins sounded too plain. The change ended up being good for selling t-shirts, so it stuck.
Later, after Rollins moved on from characters like the Monday Night Messiah and the Drip God, Freakin was brought back as part of his name. Rollins wanted to be known as The Visionary, but Vince McMahon didnt really go for that idea. Instead, Freakin became a big part of his identity, and people had to say it every time his name was mentioned, in commentary, in introductions, everywhere.
Rollins thought this was overkill and suggested they tone it down. He felt it would work better if Freakin was only used in special moments, like grand introductions or when he said it himself, rather than every single time. He compared it to how Roman Reigns isnt always called The Tribal Chief, showing that sometimes less is more.
Seth Freakin Rollins has made the nickname a big part of his legacy, even though it wasnt his first choice. It shows Vince McMahons creative ideas and Rollins ability to adjust to anything in WWE and itll stick with him for a long time. Regardless, fans are waiting to see whats next for Rollins following his loss to CM Punk during WWE RAWs big Netflix debut on January 6th.
What do you think of Seth Rollins Freakin nickname? Should it be used sparingly, or does it add to his larger-than-life persona? Let us know in the comments!
