West Ham United are the latest side to join the race for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, reports have revealed.

Interest in Rashford has grown rapidly over the past few days. AC Milan opened the bidding earlier this week, while the forward's representatives are believed to have held talks with both Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

Tottenham Hotspur were also tipped to try sign Rashford, as were Serie A newcomers Como, who are managed by Cesc Fabregas and are backed by the the richest owners in the Italian top flight. There is even talk of a swap deal involving Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

talkSPORT report on interest from West Ham - claims subsequently backed up by other outlets - though they recognise they face an uphill battle to convince Rashford to reject interest from the host of European giants chasing his signature.

Rashford's wages of over 300,000-per-week have effectively ended United's hopes of a permanent sale this month, with his loan suitors not prepared to pay anywhere close to the entirety of the 27-year-old's full salary.

United are likely to have to accept to subsidise Rashford's wages to send him out on loan, with West Ham keen to offer a financial package which could rival most of the European sides. However, the fact the Hammers are sitting down in 14th in the Premier League standings could work against them in their attempts to engineer a deal

West Ham recently hired Graham Potter as their new head coach and are keen to bolster the squad this month in an attempt to reverse a miserable start to the season under former boss Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard was dismissed after back-to-back defeats saw nine goals shipped against Liverpool and Manchester City, adding to heavy defeats earlier this season to Tottenham and Arsenal.
