Jannik Sinner has had to face very difficult months due to the doping case that concerned him last year. The facts are known to all: the world number 1 was found positive for Clostebol in two different doping controls carried out in March 2024, but he was able to regularly continue playing because ITIA believed his version of events.

The 2-time Grand Slam champion handled a lengthy process with great mental strength over the next few months, until ITIA acknowledged his innocence just before the start of the US Open. In October however WADA decided to appeal against the acquittal sentence, triggering a new trial before the CAS in Lausanne.
The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria risks suffering a suspension of 1 to 2 years, but the verdict will not arrive before March.
Kalinskaya and Kyrgios ignore each other
During these months, there is one player who has attacked Jannik more than any other. The reference is obviously to Nick Kyrgios, who has not missed a single opportunity to criticize the world number 1 even with very questionable statements.
As if that were not enough, the Australian ace also brought up Sinner's current girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya. The Russian player and Kyrgios were engaged for a period, but their relationship worsened a lot after the end of their love-story.

Some images have been circulated on social media in which it can be seen that Anna and Nick completely ignore each other after accidentally meeting in the locker room. Kalinskaya doesn't even deserve a glance at her ex-boyfriend, before Nick starts talking very friendly with 4-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz.
This bad story was not handled well by the Australian, who had an almost obsessive approach to Jannik and fueled a climate of hatred towards him. The hope is that the talent from Canberra will realize his mistakes and have the strength to apologize.
