The hearing will be held on April 16 and 17 at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and will be behind closed doors. The world number 1 has suffered a lot in recent months because of this delicate story, which has also served him to grow up and to understand who his true friends are.

The 2-time Grand Slam champion continued to maintain his innocence and never responded to the taunts of those who attacked him, including Australian ace Nick Kyrgios. In addition, the 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria had to change part of his team due to the responsibility of Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi in this affair.

Sinner risks a suspension

The Italian ace had tested positive for Clostebol in March 2024 and had undergone a provisional suspension, which had been revoked almost immediately by ITIA which had believed his version of events. On August 20, 2024, a few days before the start of the US Open, ITIA had acknowledged his innocence and acquitted him.

Some players and insiders have argued that the Italian champion received preferential treatment during this proceeding, a thesis promptly denied by ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi.

"I genuinely believe there has been a lot of misinformation surrounding this issue, which is unfortunate. I am 100 percent certain there has been no preferential treatment. The process has been executed according to the rules set forth by ITIA Gaudenzi said in an interview with Australian Associated Press.

In about three months the verdict will be announced and this ugly case can finally be concluded.
