The CW has a big reach and WWE NXT is enjoying their new television home. That being said, some fans are now unable to watch the companys Tuesday night show because the channel has been dropped.
One fans posted on X with a bit of a gripe about Optimum. They posted to say, Welp here in New York they just dropped @TheCW from @optimum along with @MSGNetworks so now I cant watch @WWENXT. They also tagged a number of pro wrestling outlets and personalities to raise the issue up the flagpole.
Optimum responded to this disgruntled fan to confirm that The CW is off their service. They replied to say, unfortunately, MSG removed their channels from our lineup, but our team is here to help you continue watching the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders and Devils.
It appears that NXT is not going to be accessible for some fans who decide to stay on Optimum. That being said, there are other streaming platforms such as Hulu, YouTube TV, and Sling who may offer the CW to that market in its place.
Counting only conventional CW affiliates and The CW Plus, the network has a reported combined national reach of 100 percent of households in the United States, representing 330,866,316 Americans with at least one television. This makes The CW the largest U.S. broadcast network by population. Now they are on less provider, so those fans will have to figure out which provider in their market will carry The CW for them.
Well have to see if this becomes an even bigger issue in the future. Right now, there are certainly some fans who will need to figure out other viewing habits if they want to stay up to date with the NXT brand.
