Daniil Medvedev admits he does not really feel like "a disruptor" on the Tour anymore because he didn't find a way to beat Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz for the biggest titles last year.

Throughout 2024, the Russian tennis star didn't have issues reaching the latter stages of the Grand Slam or Masters tournaments.
But although he made a Slam and a Masters final - as well as Slam and Masters semifinal on different occasions - he concluded last season without any titles.
And Sinner and Alcaraz were the main reason behind that.
In early 2024, Medvedev lost the Australian Open final to the Italian from two sets up and he was also beaten by the same opponent in the Miami Masters semifinal.
Against Alcaraz, the world No. 5 fell short in the Indian Wells Masters final and the Wimbledon semifinal.
Overall, Sinner posted a 5-1 record against the Russian last year while the Spaniard won all three of his meetings against the 2021 US Open winner.

Medvedev on if he feels like a disruptor: Less now after I was not able to beat them
"I would say a bit less. Why? Because I didn't manage last year, except the Australian Open, I was less of a disrupterbecause Carlos and Jannik were beating me a lot of times. A lot of tournaments I was getting to the good stages but not able to beat them," the 28-year-old admitted in his pre-tournament presser at the Australian Open.
"I would like to become again, I don't even know this word, but let's say a disrupter, because it means that I will be able to get to these later stages and win them.
"Again, at this moment they're clearly the favorites, and that's normal. I try to develop something, and let's see if it works. As I say, last year I could see that it's not enough, what I'm doing against them, so I'll try to improve."

If Medvedev reaches the deep Australian Open stages, he could possibly meet Sinner in the semifinal and Alcaraz in the final.
