Daniil Medvedev expressed himself on the relationship (or rather, we can safely say) that Nick Kyrgios has undertaken against Jannik Sinner.
The Italian has been the victim of continuous attacks by the Australian in recent months, due to the double doping test failed at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
The Russian, asked about the stormy relationship between the two tennis players during the media day of the Australian Open 2025, analyzed:
"It's difficult for me to say. I've been here for a day and a half. Everyone who sees me in the locker room congratulates me for the moment. There is a lot of harmony in the locker room. I haven't seen Nick yet. Actually, it would be interesting to see, if he passed by Jannik, what kind of atmosphere there would be.
It is known that with some players you talk more, with others less. With some people you smile and laugh, while with others you just say hello. Let's call them arguments or discussions between two, three or four players, I don't think they will change the entire locker room. I haven't seen any changes."
Medvedev will certainly be one of the favorites at the Happy Slams. After a 2024 lived in chiaroscuro, the Russian tennis player wants to regain a leading role on the ATP Tour.
The former US Open winner ended last season without winning a title and appeared to be in serious trouble in head-to-head matches with the two best tennis players of the new generation: Sinner himself and Carlos Alcaraz.
"They beat me a lot last year and I didn't bother them much. I reached the final stages of many tournaments without beating them. I would like to be a troublemaker again in that sense. They are clearly the favorites, it seems normal to me. What I did against them last year wasn't enough, so I know I have to improve," he added.
