Buff Bagwell, a standout from WCWs golden era, is ready for his redemption story and hopes it leads him to the WWE Hall of Fame. Despite a short-lived WWE career that ended after just one match on Raw, Bagwell remains hopeful about earning a spot under the WWE umbrella in some capacity.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Bagwell reflected on his career and expressed his desire to reconnect with WWE. Id love to have some kind of Legend deal, he said. Or helping the boys, or helping the school out. Some part of being under that WWE umbrella. Id love to be a part of that.
Bagwell, who was named WCWs Rookie of the Year in 1991 and held multiple WCW World Tag Team Championships, highlighted his contributions to the industry as a member of the NWO during wrestlings Monday Night War. But he also acknowledged that his past struggles with addiction and legal troubles have cast a shadow over his career.
Thankfully, Bagwell is on the road to recovery, crediting Diamond Dallas Page for helping him turn his life around. Now clean and sober, he hopes his personal growth will demonstrate to WWE that hes ready for another shot. The 20 years I blew, I believe will be corrected before I die, Bagwell shared. You gotta be a good person and show that youre a good human being, and Im on that right path now. I just hope and pray that I will [get there].
Interestingly, Bagwell revealed that he turned down an offer to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the NWO in 2020. While its unclear what prompted his decision, it seems Bagwell is holding out for an opportunity to fully showcase his growth and contributions to the business.
