2025 has started in the best possible way for the Russian, who saw the birth of his second child with his wife Daria, to whom he has been married since 2018.
The former ATP number 1 has published on his social media channels a very sweet photo in the company of his smiling eldest daughter Alisa and the new arrival, whose name he has not revealed. The image is accompanied by a sweet wish for a Happy New Year, followed by a heart. A special moment for Daniil, who will have to put it behind him for a short while.
"The impact of the birth of a child on the Australian Open is a purely individual matter. You have to understand how Daniil's training went during the off-season. I think psychologically the last month was not easy for Medvedev, because of the wait for the birth and his wife's condition," said Kefelnikov.

The former Russian tennis legend continued, speaking about his experience as a father, analyzing: "Pregnancy is not an easy thing. I don't know how Daniil's off-season went, but you have to come to Australia early. Everyone is preparing while Medvedev is in Europe at the moment.
I have no idea how he will manage it. My daughter was born 26 years ago. She was born in the middle of the season, in October. Probably it had a positive effect on me. But I don't remember what the results were at the time. Again, it's an individual position."
We recall Medvedev is the defending finalist in Melbourne: he played last seasonfinal, lost in 5 sets against Jannik Sinner, after having been ahead in the first two sets of the challenge against the Italian.
