Stinger GC team captain Louis Oosthuizen revealed in an interview with the media that LIV Golf plans to organize a tournament in South Africa next year. It is difficult to give the right answer as to whether they will succeed in this, but their desire and struggle could pay off.
Theres a lot of work going on behind the scenes and being put in (for an event). We are fighting hard to get it in but there needs to be a lot of things to align.
We are talking to the Sunshine Tour back in South Africa and we dont want to step on anyones toes. We want to work together with everyone and get a team there as soon as possible. Its a lot of things that need to happen before we can have a tournament, but it is one of our big goals to get everything there."- he told Golf Monthly.
Louis Oosthuizen: In an ideal world it will happen in 2026
South American golf fans are impatient, hoping that Oosthuizen, his colleagues, and the leadership of the controversial Tour will solve all the problems and bring LIV to South Africa. The popular golfer does not know when this idea could see the light of day, but his forecasts are that if they do not succeed in the following years, South Africa could welcome LIV in 2027.

We need to do it right in how we want to do it. We are in talks with them (Sunshine Tour) on how it can be done. Everyone knows the South African public want a LIV tournament and to bring this type of field to South Africa would be an unbelievable thing. The Sunshine Tour gets that and its a matter of coming together and getting a sponsor and getting everyone together to get it.
"In an ideal world it will happen in 2026 but, if it doesnt happen in 2026, well work hard to get it in 2027. Its something weve been working hard on since March 2024. So, its a lot of things that we have to sort, but we are working hard and we are moving forward.
