WWE wanted a big episode for their January 14 episode after last weeks massive New Years Evil event. This weeks show included a couple big matches, including an NXT Tag Team Title match.
The NXT Tag Team Championships were on the line as Nathan Frazer & Axiom defended their titles against OTM. Even though the champions are very strong, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima were not about to give them an easy title defense.
This weeks NXT featured DIY in a backstage interview. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano stated that they were in the building to take a closer look at Fraxium, but they ensured everyone that there was no funny business associated with their visit.
When the tag team title match finally came around, fans were more than ready to see the contest go down. Mike Rome was on hand to give this one a big match feel with his introductions.
DIY was shown in the lookout position above the ring during the match. This one got started with OTM using their strength to gain an advantage. Then the two teams wrestled through a commercial break.
In the end, Fraxiom survived the match to retain the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships. This was a hard-fought match, but Nathan Frazer and Axiom will keep their titles for later. DIY were very pleased with the show as they watched until the end.
We will have to see what the future holds for NXTs tag team division. At this point, anything is on the table as the companys developmental brand continues impressing fans around every corner.
