Rumors are swirling about WWE Backlash heading south of the border, thanks to comments from global music sensation and occasional WWE star Bad Bunny. In a recent interview, Bad Bunny confidently claimed that Backlash is going to Mexico, following its successful run in Puerto Rico back in May 2023.
However, reports quickly poured cold water on the claim, stating that no plans for Backlash to take place in Mexico are currently in the works. As of now, WWE has yet to announce a venue for the 2025 Premium Live Event.
Backstage Pass has weighed in on the possibility of international WWE PLEs, with WrestleVotes shedding light on a potential 2026 event in Mexico. I would say probably 2026 is a good possibility, yeah. A very high possibility, they noted.
This update aligns with earlier reports that WWE has had discussions about hosting a future PLE in Mexico City during 2025, although nothing has been confirmed.
While fans await confirmation, the first international PLE of 2025 is already locked inElimination Chamber will take place on March 1 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Additionally, WWE Royal Rumble 2026 is set to make history by being hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time since 1989 that the event will take place outside the United States.
