The January 15 episode of AEW Dynamite prepared fans for their upcoming trip to Australia, and that included some big moments. Kenny Omegas return to the company was soon followed by his in-ring return
Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay had a nice stare-down during the January 8 episode of AEW Dynamite. During this weeks AEW Dynamite, The Cleaner took on Brian Cage as the opening match of the show. This was quite a way to kick off the broadcast.
This match had fans excited from the start, and Brian Cage took control of the contest at first. Kenny Omega took a lot of bumps as Don Callis celebrated on commentary. This match went through a commercial break as Omega made Brian Cage look like a monster.
As the announce team made a point to speak on Kenny Omegas road to recovery, he started to fight back. Brian Cage was in trouble, but he used his strength to stay in the contest.
Kenny Omega landed a knee and a V-Trigger. Then Omega landed a One Winged Angel to secure the win. This was quite a welcome back for the former AEW World Champion.
Kenny Omegas diverticulitis hiatusstarted in early December 2023. That derailed all plans for him, as he was 1/2 of the ROH Tag Team Champions with Chris Jericho at the time. A lot of things have changed since then for AEW and ROH, including Jerichosnatching the ROH World Title in the interim period. This was a long-awaited return for Omega during AEW Maximum Carnage.
After the match was over, Will Ospreay made his way to the ring, but the Don Callis Family laid both of them out. That was quite a way to end Omegas night after such a big win.
