Reactions to Norman's departure from the position of CEO caused reactions among golf figures.
Rory McIlroy, a fierce fighter against LIV, and now a man who has somewhat different views, thinks that LIV made a good move. McIlory feels it is time for someone more experienced to step into this position.
"Greg took a lot of flack the first couple of years. He is probably one of the only guys in golf who could have taken on that role. He got off the ground and you have to commend him for that, now it is time for someone with a bit more experience to take over."-he told Mirror.
Rory McIlroy's statements two years ago
Two years ago, as we have already said, the Northern Irishman had completely different views, not only regarding LIV Golf, but also regarding Greg Norman. The 35-year-old then stressed that it was time for Norman to finish his adventure in this sport, and dedicate himself to some other things. The 69-year-old was not open to such things, but now it's time for some new faces, and Norman will certainly have an important role in LIV and beyond.

"I think he just needs to exit stage left," - he said.
Hes made his mark, but I think now is the right time to sort of say, Look, youve got this thing off the ground, but no one is going to talk unless theres an adult in the room that can actually try to mend fences.
O'Neill has a lot of responsibility, but also pressure. We'll see how he handles this role.
