TNA Wrestling is expanding its reach, with the companys flagship show, TNA iMPACT!, set to air on Sportsnet 360 in Canada starting in 2025. The deal is a significant step forward for TNA, offering the company access to a larger audience in Canada. However, Brian Myers, a veteran of the promotion, believes the key to TNAs long-term success lies in securing a broader TV deal.
On a recent episode of Reffin It Up, Myers discussed how a better television deal could elevate TNA to new heights. I 100% believe that, he said. I think, whether its a streaming service or a cable channel that is in more homes, thats the missing piece. Because the talents there, the passions there, the rosters there. Even the stuff Eric Tompkins does behind the scenes, making us all look cooler than we really are with the packages and the vignettes, its all there. Its just a matter of eyeballs, and I think thats the move.
TNA has built a strong roster and loyal fanbase, but Myers is clear that more exposure is needed to truly make an impact on the global stage. Currently, TNA is available in the U.S. via YouTube for TNA+ subscribers and on AXS TV, but a larger TV deal is what Myers believes will take the company to the next level.
The potential for a global expansion is especially relevant as WWE, TNAs competition, moves WWE Raw to Netflix in 2025. Myers sees this as a potential opportunity for TNA to make a similar leap. I was just like, man, this feels big. This feels bigger than wrestling. That was the first time I was like, damn, man. This is different. But its still wrestling. So its like that money is gonna roll downhill and hopefully land in TNAs lap [laughs], and we can do something ourselves on a streaming platform.
With TNA expanding its presence in Canada and the potential for a bigger TV deal on the horizon, the wrestling promotion could be on the cusp of something bigger. However, as Brian Myers pointed out, the key to taking TNA to the next level lies in securing more eyeballs. If the company can find that elusive deal, we might be looking at a serious game-changer in the wrestling world. W
TNA is off to a good start with its Sportsnet deal in Canada, but the future could be even brighter if the promotion secures a larger deal. What do you think? Can TNA reach the next level with a better TV deal? Share your thoughts in the comments!
