The Acclaimed has officially split. After months of speculation about tension between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, the duo finally fell apart at the January 18, 2025, AEW Collision tapings in Cincinnati, Ohio. What started as a heated conversation turned into the end of one of AEWs most successful tag teams.
During the segment, Bowens accused Caster of losing their team spirit and letting his ego take over. He made it clear that he considers himself the pride of AEW, and in a defining moment, he chose to align with Billy Gunn. That decision was the final straw for Caster, who declared that The Acclaimed was officially done.
This comes after Bowens previously downplayed breakup rumors in an interview ahead of AEW Full Gear, insisting that The Acclaimed still had plenty left to accomplish. But now, with Caster calling an end to their partnership, both men are heading in separate directions.
