Greg Norman has been one of the most controversial figures on the golf scene for years, ever since he was confirmed as CEO of LIV Golf. The experienced Norman will no longer perform that function, given that his place is being taken by the experienced Scott O'Neil, a man who has been working as CEO for years.

Reactions to the arrival of a new face in the world of LIV are different.
Perhaps LIV's best golfer, Jon Rahm, reacted to Scott's arrival, stressing that O'Neill is a great addition to the Tour for many reasons. Although he respects Norman and his work, the Spaniard feels that his departure could ease tensions with both sides.
Even though Greg has treated me great, I think having somebody like Scott who is a little bit outside the world of golf but very much in the world of sport, I think makes him kind of a perfect match for that, Rahm said, as quoted by Irish Independent.
I think, unfortunately, there's been a little bit, possibly a little too much bad blood between Greg and maybe the governing bodies, and to have somebody outside of that might help the situation."

Jon Rahm on Scott O'Neil's experience
The 30-year-old is especially delighted because the new CEO of this Tour has experience in the NBA, which will be an important factor in his work on the golf scene.
Jon Rahm had the opportunity to speak with Scott O'Neill, recognizing his enthusiasm, vision and optimism for the future of golf. The former PGA Tour player believes this will be a positive thing for everyone.
Plus his overall view with what a league or an organization could work and should work with his experience in the NBA, right.
With that, and based on what I talked to him about and the vision he has and his enthusiasm, I think he's going to be a very positive impact for LIV, and Fox, obviously, as well.
