Coco Gauff is backing Novak Djokovic's proposal to introduce some kind of a show to tennis matches but acknowledges that it will likely need to be something short because tennis doesn't have regular halftimes like some other sports.

At the Australian Open, the record 24-time Grand Slam champion suggested that the tennis authorities should do something to make the game more appealing to the younger generation.

And since the 21st century generation loves entertainment and shows, the 37-year-old suggested that getting dancers to the court between breaks could be a nice thing.

Jessica Pegula, the 2024 US Open finalist and the WTA world No. 6, also backed Djokovic's idea, saying that tennis should look to become less "stuffy and uppity."

Now, the 2023 US Open champion is also throwing her support to the idea.

Gauff: It's a great suggestion, maybe hire some street performers?

I mean, it's a great suggestion if we had like a real half-time like other sports do," the 20-year-old stated.

I think the issue is that we only have a minute, which I honestly think that our changeovers should be a little bit longer here, because by the time you walk to your seat, it's only 45 seconds. But that's another thing.

I guess it really depends on how long you want the show to go on. I don't think it will be as much as like NFL where it's like an actual 15-minute half-time. That would be maybe too long.

Maybe hire some street performers. Do a little quick 90-second routine, something like that.

Meanwhile, Gauff is in the midst of a strong Australian Open as she has been through to the Australian Open quarterfinal after coming back from a set down to beat Belinda Bencic 5-7 6-2 6-1 for her 11th consecutive win.
