The Bucks could be the Suns shining light and may have the ability to help get a Jimmy Butler trade done, an NBA insider has revealed.

Milwaukee were one of the teams interested in trading for Jimmy, but the interest seems to have wained as Phoenix became the heavy favorites to land the Heat star.

Whilst the Bucks have previously expressed interest in Butler, they have been more frequently painted as a team likely to rekindle their previous interest in Phoenixs Bradley Beal if they intend to pursue a trade for a player in the $50 million range, Marc Stein says.

Funnily enough, the Bucks had interest in Beal the summer of 2023, before trading for Damian Lillard.

But, like any big-name trade in the league, it comes with its fair share of obstacles.

For one, Beal has a no-trade clause and could refuse to make the switch to Milwaukee.

To land Beal and facilitate Jimmy to the Suns, the Bucks would most likely need a fourth team to participate in the deal for cap purposes.

The Bucks, as a second apron team, cannot aggregate salary in trades right now. However, if a trade got them below the second apron, they would be allowed to aggregate in that deal, CBS Sports Sam Quinn explains. That means that the Bucks would have to shed around $6.5 million in any Beal acquisition.

Beal makes roughly $50.2 million. The three-man trade package of Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton would nearly get them there, but Phoenix cant take on excess salary either as a second apron team, and the Heat arent going to want to. That means someone, likely the below-the-cap Pistons, would have to be paid off to take a contract.
