As you probably know very well by now, the host was standing in front of Serbian fans on Friday when he said on air that they were chanting, "Novak's overrated" and that "Novak's a has-been."

After beating Jiri Lehecka on Sunday, the record 10-time Australian Open champion refused to conduct an on-court interview because he was boycotting Channel 9.

"Djokovic is right. That Channel 9 guy was an absolute tool," Piers Morgan wrote on X about the incident.

Kyrgios re-posted Morgan's comment.

In a separate post, the Australian appeared to take another dig at Jones.

"Why is it always the most unathletic people calling out the best athletes in the world," he asked.

Djokovic said that 'insulting and offensive comments' were made about him

At the start of his post-match presser, the 37-year-old took a moment to explain why he skipped the on-court interview before receiving any questions.

Couple days ago the famous sports journalist who works for official broadcaster, Channel 9 here in Australia, made a mockery of Serbian fans and also made insulting and offensive comments towards me. And since then, he chose not to issue any public apology. Neither did Channel 9,"
