The Warriors are in a tough spot right now and Steph Curry has gotten candid about their season.
Golden State are super mid and havent had any consistency at all. Curry has been carrying the team on his shoulders but ultimately, it hasnt been enough.
He says its been an emotional roller coaster.
Its very volatile right now in terms of the emotional roller coaster this year, Curry told ESPNs Ohm Youngmisuk. Similar to what it was like that [2021-22 season that ended with a championship].
I think its a challenge for us to just try to maintain confidence in what were doing, what were building. And until we run out of time, we have to maintain it.
The four-time champion has spouted some cryptic comments to the media lately, but says hes okay with the team not making many changes at the deadline, he just needs everyone to lift.
[Were] trying to be a realistic threat in a playoffs series, Curry said. If Mike calls and says, Hey, this is an opportunity to do X, Y, Z, I give my opinion.
My hope is that [if theres no action at the deadline], its not because of a lack of effort. If we dont have a chance to get better, my whole thing is I want to win, and whatever that means, all efforts are pointed towards that, then I can kind of live with whatever happens.
Despite the ups and downs, Curry will always be a winner and he saidWednesday that anyone who thinks hes okay with being on an average team is insane.
His goal is to still win a fifth chip before he rides off into the sunset and he believes the Warriors are capable.
Hundred percent feel like we can beat anybody in a playoff series because weve done it, Curry said. We have the knowhow, and we just want to be able to answer that question with how were playing and not imagine.
Weve been there. We know how to do it. Just feel like we can do it again.
