Iga Swiatek absolutely dominated No. 8 seed Emma Navarro 6-1 6-2 to make her second Australian Open semifinal and the first one since 2022.

After dropping just 11 games through her opening four matches, the second seed also broke the American three times to easily bag the first set.

At the start of the second set, the 2024 US Open semifinalist managed to make it a bit more competitive and even have the set tied to two games apiece.

Also, Navarro had her first break point in the fifth game - but after Swiatek saved it - the Pole went on to claim back-to-back breaks and complete her two-set win on a four-game run.

During the match, the former world No. 1 hit 22 winners, converted 5-of-9 of her break point opportunities and only faced one break point - which she saved as mentioned above.

Apart from that moment early in the second set, there weren't many openings or chances for the 23-year-old American, who was playing in her first quarterfinal at Melbourne Park.

Next up for Swiatek will be another American - world No. 14 Madison Keys - who beat Elina Svitolina in three sets.

What Swiatek, Navarro said following the match:

"Honestly, I wasn't going so deep in Grand Slams so much except Roland Garros," the Polish star said.

"For sure now I'm happy that I'm kind of playing my level here. Last year my journey here finished at fourth and third round, so for sure I feel more confident now."

Meanwhile, the American kept it straight honest and admitted it was just a very tough matchup.

"I think something she does really well is she's really quick, and she does everything with 100 percent conviction and intensity," Navarro said.

"She has a different style of movement and play. It's tough to not be sort of affected by that and not feel like, okay, I have to do everything at the same speed that she's doing it. So that was something, for sure, I felt a little bit today."
