Alex de Minaur noticed one very strong comment made about his performance versus Jannik Sinner and he wasn't interested in letting it slide.

On Wednesday, the home favorite player exited the Australian Open in the quarterfinal after the No. 1 seed handed him a 6-3 6-2 6-1 loss.

Now, the Italian leads their head-to-head 10-0.

"Alex De Minaur has zero self belief that he can even compete with Sinner let alone beat him. Awful performance from him," one critic wrote on X.

The top-ranked Australian male tennis player responded: "Hey mate its a shame that you never became a good enough player to experience playing Jannik. Im sure you wouldve put up a better performance and know exactly how to beat him. Wishing you all the best!!!"

De Minaur was straight honest after his latest loss to Sinner

Throughout the match, the defending Australian Open champion was all over the world No. 8, firing 27 winners, earning 10 break points and realizing six, while not losing his serve once.

On the other side, the Australian sprayed 26 unforced errors and had just 10 winners.

Not only that Sinner is unbeaten in their head-to-head, but he has also dropped just one set in their 10 meetings - it happened in early 2020 when they met for the second time.

Following the latest loss, de Minaur admitted that it was once again the same story and didn't hide that he was disappointed because he was hoping he could possibly do something at Melbourne Park.

"He's probably my worst match-up, and you can see it in the head-to-head," the Australian admitted.

The 25-year-old may have easily lost to Sinner again but it doesn't change the fact that this was his best Australian Open run since it was his first quarterfinal appearance in Melbourne.
