The TGL league, created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, generates enormous attention from the golfing public. The format they presented causes mixed reactions, but it seems that the younger audience is satisfied with these changes.

One of the innovations is a 40-second shot timer, and the creators of this league intend to make some more changes. The PGA Tour has already spoken about the problem of game tempo, but the question is whether the PGA will change such things in the future.
Justin Thomas, an important face of the PGA Tour and TGL, pointed out that it is difficult to make drastic changes and speed up the game.
Its tough. Look, this is my 10th year on Tour. Ive been on the PAC a lot of years. Weve talked about pace of play all 10 years, Thomas said, as quoted by Golf.com
Justin Thomas reacts
The popular golfer expresses his skepticism about speeding up the game, given that it could cause negative reactions among fans. Thomas stresses that no matter what kind of difference they make, it is unlikely that the fans will react positively to such a thing. However, it could also lead to consequences for golfers who would probably have problems in their game because of it.

You have to make such drastic changes for it to be noticeable. Pretty much a lot of the conversations end the same way; its like, what are we trying to accomplish here? Are rounds going to be 12 minutes faster? Are they going to be 20 minutes faster? Its hard to realistically make a big enough difference where people are like, wow, this is great. Rounds are only three hours now or three and a half hours instead of five. You know what I mean? Its really hard to make that big of a change.
This topic has been going on for several years, especially when witnessing tournaments that are slow and last a long time. The question is, what is the right solution in this case?
