The Farmers Insurance Open takes place this week at Torrey Pines, with a host of quality golfers aiming for glory in this tournament. However, in a few weeks we could watch another tournament on this course. It is the Genesis Invitational, which will be held from February 13 to 16.

Although Riviera was supposed to be the host of this tournament, the court was closed due to damage in the area. Reactions are mixed regarding this, and the current leader of Farmers, Ludvig Aberg admits that he has nothing against such a decision, as he is open to such things.
"No pushback from me. Bring it here please."
Jason Day, an Australian golfer, shares the sentiment, noting that he has fond memories of the course. Day isn't sure how open the city is to hosting a tournament, but he's sure it would attract the attention of golf fans.
"I love it. I've had good memories here.
Obviously Tiger's had a huge amount of success here, it's not that far from L.A., it's just down the road, the infrastructure's here already.
It just depends on if the city wants to hold it and what that would look like.

Then that is obviously one way of getting the players to come back to San Diego is [if you] have a signature event in your backyard, which would be nice."-Day said, as quoted by Golf Magic.
Jason Day on the situation in LA
Day showed empathy towards the citizens of Los Angles, who are experiencing the most difficult moments in the history of this city. The fires caused enormous damage in this area, with many people left homeless, along with victims.
The Australian golfer believes that the relocation would be good news for the city, but he still emphasizes that one should not forget the difficult situation in which the citizens of LA find themselves. The experienced golfer hopes that citizens will recover as soon as possible and return to their old lives.
