John Millman took a strong stance against the Australian Open crowd's boos for Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios applauded the former Australian tennis star for his reporting.

As you probably know very well by now, the record 10-time Australian Open champion was very loudly booed after retiring his semifinal match against Alexander Zverev due to what he later revealed was a muscle tear injury.
Although it wasn't a secret that Djokovic was injured and that something could possibly go wrong on Friday, the spectators weren't happy at all after the Serb decided to retire moments after losing a first-set marathon that lasted nearly an hour and a half.
Millman, who retired from pro tennis after last year's Australian Open, was on air as it was happening.
And he didn't appreciate it all.
"The crowds have been questioned a lot and rightly so. I mean, I just think it's a bit of a shambles," the former one-time ATP winner said on Nine.

"Some of the behavior has crossed the line and that one takes the cake for me. I mean, this is a guy who's won it 10 times.
"Have some respect. He's one of the all-time greats, if not the greatest to play. He's definitely the greatest to play on this court.
"I don't care how much you've spent on your ticket - have some respect."
Kyrgios applauds Millman: This is true reporting
"John milkman. This is what reporting looks like," the 2022 Wimbledon finalist wrote on X.
Meanwhile, several notable members of the tennis community - mostly former players - criticized the Australian Open crowd for their actions, with the majority pointing out that Djokovic had played injured in the past in Melbourne.
Also, it didn't help that the 37-year-old hinted that this may have been his last Australian Open.

In his presser, Djokovic himself suggested that those who booed him probably should have remembered that.
