Jannik Sinner's victory at the 2025 Australian Open was so impressive that it left fans and insiders speechless. The world number 1 is clearly the best on hard courts and seems to be able to extend his dominance on other surfaces as well, dreaming of achieving the 'Calendar Grand Slam'.

The Italian ace - who had already dominated the men's tour in 2024 with eight titles and just six defeats - started in style again this season and won the Happy Slam without ever giving the feeling of being in trouble.
Except for the small health problem he suffered against Rune in the round of 16, Jannik's run was essentially smooth and reiterated how much his level has risen in recent months. The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria did not lose a single set between the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, demolishing even German ace Alexander Zverev who dreamed of winning the first Major title of his career.
Escud pays tribute to Sinner
The feeling is that the other players will have to find new solutions to stem the dominance of the Italian champion, who has no intention of stopping here and who will also try to conquer Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the coming months.

In a recent interview with L'Equipe, former world number 17 Nicolas Escud paid tribute to Sinner: "The truth is that he has all the skills to dominate the men's tour. Jannik is the modern version of Novak Djokovic. Nole sometimes happens to lose rhythm with the serve or to get nervous, which does not happen to the Italian ace. There are many similarities between them in the way they play, but you have to admit that Sinner has a better forehand than Djokovic and he also has more power from the baseline."
The 3-time Grand Slam champion has just announced that he will not defend his title in Rotterdam next week and that he will return to action in the Doha ATP 500 in the second half of February.
